Special Exhibitions
Since its beginnings in the mid-1990s, 20th Century Cincinnati has included special exhibits and special guests covering a wide variety of modern design topics.
Past highlights have included design retrospectives of Herman Miller, Knoll International, Russel Wright, Higgins Glass, and Blenko Glass; guest appearances by mid-century artists Charley and Edie Harper, contemporary silhouette artist Wendy Wuebbels, and famed glass designer Wayne Husted; exhibits featuring mid-century architecture, Italian modern design, bakelite and catalin plastics, Ohio modernist pottery, and American mid-century signage; book signings by authors Ann Kerr, Cara Greenberg, and Leslie Pina; and much more.
Sforzina: Designs for
a Modern America
The brilliant work of Interior Designer, Architect, Industrial Designer, and Artist Edgar Sforzina was recently rediscovered by his granddaughter.
For one weekend only, we are lucky enough to be able to share this traveling, informational exhibit, which includes some of Sforzina’s original works.

Denise E Allen
How was the legacy of an artist so integral to Cincinnati’s history nearly lost in time? Denise E. Allen, granddaughter of Sforzina, will join us to discuss her journey to reintroduce the world to her grandfather’s designs.
This free event is open to the public and made possible through a partnership with the Art Deco Society of Washington.
